Poetic Astrology (with Hermes):

Galactic Guidance and Whimsical Insights
for the New Millennium

I collaborate with the legendary Hermes Trismegistus. He provides me with "thought bubbles" containing ideas to discuss. I am free to use my own vocabulary, provided the concepts are preserved. After each concept is presented, he summarizes it with unusual quatrains (four-line poems). The thought bubbles and quatrains are received telepathically. I "hear" (and sometimes "see") them in my mind.

To speak about my cosmic guide
Sure takes a lot of guts.
Still, I'd take it all in stride
But he says that I'm nuts!

The Birth Code:

An Advanced System of Self-Awareness

I am currently working on a new project to a) define the various layers of affective, cognitive and physical manifestations that occur when solar archetypes form critical junctures with human volition; and b) to establish the rudiments of a new living science substantiating a link between the Pythagorean concept of Divine Number, Platonic Ideals, and the Keplerian notion that celestial harmonies and perfect ratios unify God and humanity.

For centuries, naysayers preached against new paradigms as they emerged. The sequence of unrealized truth regarding our link to the cosmos, reads like this: the Earth is flat; the Earth is round; the Earth is the center of the universe; the Earth is just one of many spheres floating around our Sun. Today, a new paradigm is revealed—the truth of your essential nature in harmony with Love, Strength and Wisdom.

A Brief Explanation of Astrology

By Neil Z. Miller

planets

I have studied astrology for 30 years. It is a fascinating and effective psychological and spiritual tool for understanding human nature. Horoscopes found in daily newspapers have nothing in common with the true practice of astrology. Here is a brief explanation of how astrology is commonly practiced by competent astrologers.

To begin, the astrologer draws up a map of the sky for the time and place of birth. Technical books containing precise celestial and terrestrial data (for example, planetary positions and time zones) are used for this purpose. The completed sky map is called a "natal" chart.

Most astrologers consider the natal chart a psychological portrait of the individual. When interpreted by a skilled practitioner, virtuous inclinations as well as destructive tendencies can be ascertained. Early environmental conditions, health predilections, and life goals can be read from the chart as well.

Many astrologers read the chart at even deeper levels. They believe in self-determination, reincarnation, and the law of karma. They believe that we (as spiritual beings) choose the conditions of our childhood, including our time of birth and our parents, so that a very specific physical and psychological framework is established early on. Patterns in later life, established in childhood, simply mirror the choice's of one's soul.

Whatever your beliefs may be, a lot of valuable information may be gained by studying your own and others' natal charts.

Basic Components of the Natal Chart

A natal chart consists of three basic components: planets, signs, and houses. Aspects, which define the angular distance between two or more planets, will also be discussed in this section.

Planets:
Planets represent primary urges governing human behavior. They are mainly experienced as psychological drives to act in a particular manner. For example, Venus represents the urge to make friends and seek affection. Mars represents the urge to defend oneself and assert one's will.

Signs:
Signs modify, or give definition to, the essential meanings of the planets. They color our responses to life, and do this by dividing the whole spectrum of self-expressive tendencies into twelve groups of related characteristics. For example, somebody with Mars in Aries, an assertive sign, is more likely to take control of their environment than somebody with Mars in Pisces, an adaptable sign.

Houses:
Houses tell astrologers where the modified urges of the planets are likely to act out their various impulses. They do this by dividing the whole spectrum of human affairs into twelve regions, or departments of life experience. For example, astrologers look to the 4th house to understand domestic issues, and the 10th house to understand career goals.

Aspects:
Aspects define the relationship between planetary impulses. They represent the integrative potential of two or more urges—how easy or difficult it is to harmonize these influences within our life. For example, somebody with Venus and Mars in a 60 degree aspect (the harmonious "sextile") will find it easy to balance the desire to make friends (Venus) with the need to assert one's individuality (Mars). If these planets were 90 degrees apart (the difficult "square"), integration between these particular impulses would not come naturally.

That is astrology in a nutshell. Of course it is quite a bit more complicated, and takes many years of study before accurate readings can be made. However, it is never too late to begin learning. Many bookstores offer a large selection of books on this subject. Astrology is a fantastic gift to humanity; learn its language to gain self-awareness and become a more compassionate, understanding human being.
